I do have the chance to live in the area for severals months now. But it's been my favourite place since the very first time I've seen it. It still surprises me that some of my friends, despite living in Berlin for longer than me, never set a foot on Tempelhof.
I go there to walk whenever I need to breathe and walk without stoping. Seeing the vast space and the sky opening has always a energetic effect on me. I can walk against the wind or enjoy the childish joy of the gigantic snowy space. I can watch the sunset while reading on one of those giant chair, sunbath in the precise middle of the park forgetting that I'm in the city. I can hide in the tall grass, make a complete round in roller skate, meet friends for a picnic and watch the poeple around. There is always a great mix of people, especially in the summer.
It's the first place I bring my friends to amaze them when they visit me in Berlin. So far it worked perfectly.
I really couldn’t imagine my Berlin life without Tempelhof.
