Read by Christa Dziumbla

Christa is an embroiderer of traditional costumes in Burg / Spreewald. With her work she keeps tradition in the Spreewald region alive and teaches young people the art of embroidering in small workshops. Miss Dziumbla, born in Spreewald says: “I wouldn't want to do anything else of live anywhere else.“

On the left photo Dziumbla wears typical traditional workaday clothes. In the background you can see one of the omnipresent “Heuschober“, an artful construction to store hay. I met Christa on a sunny day in the backyard of her house and asked her to read out loud the tale of the origin of Spreewald.
